KALI DURGE – MAAND RAGA
Chanting with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda
Kali Durge honors the goddess, the Devi, the divine Shakti or creative power, in two of her magnificent forms, Kali and Durga, beneficent warriors. The words namo namah, salutations again and again, call out to and invoke the blessings of the Devi.
The melody is set to the Indian raga Mand, which has its origin in the folk music of Rajasthan. The light and warmth of the raga shine through the chant, its beauty and sweetness evoke a natural yearning for divine love.
Recorded live in the Oakland Siddha Yoga Meditation Ashram, California during the May 2002 Siddha Yoga Broadcast Intensive Abide in Silence, the Source of All Creation.
